From the CNC-machined compression cap to the titanium-nitride coated bearings, every component has been designed with performance, durability, and weight reduction in mind.
At the top, a custom CNC-machined aluminium compression cap features Box’s distinctive logo shape with precision cut-outs to remove unnecessary weight. An anodised aluminium bolt threads directly into a gold anodised aluminium expander plug, eliminating the need for a traditional star nut.
The expander system is compatible with all 1-1/8" steerer tubes, including carbon fibre steerers, making it an ideal choice for premium carbon BMX fork setups.
A lightweight carbon fibre upper bearing cover further reduces weight while delivering the unmistakable premium appearance of Box One components.
At the heart of the headset are two super-smooth 45° × 45° sealed bearings with a titanium-nitride coating. This specialised coating reduces friction, increases corrosion resistance, and promotes smooth, consistent steering performance.
For easier installation and maintenance, the Box One headset uses a split crown race, allowing it to be fitted or removed without the struggle associated with traditional press-fit crown races.
Designed for 1.5" tapered frames and forks, the headset also includes an adapter crown race, allowing riders to use a standard straight 1-1/8" steerer fork in a compatible tapered frame.
